Chung-Tien Lin, DVM, PhD, Diplomate AiCVO
Professor Chung-Tien Lin is a Professor of Veterinary Ophthalmology, School of Veterinary Medicine and Chief of Ophthalmology Section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taiwan. He is a charter Diplomate of the Asian College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (AiCVO) since 2011. He is the President of the Asian Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (AiSVO) and Asian College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (AiCVO). He is also the President of the Taiwan Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (TSVO). Professor Lin is an editor of the SCI-listed international Journal “Veterinary Ophthalmology” published by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO), USA, an editor of the Globe Newsletter published by the International Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ISVO), and also a reviewer of several other international veterinary or ophthalmology journals.
Prof. Lin received his DVM from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, National Taiwan University in 1991. He obtained his PhD in canine generalized progressive retinal atrophy (gPRA) at the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge, UK in 1998. He was a visiting ophthalmology faculty at the ophthalmology clinics, College of Veterinary Medicine, North Carolina State University (NCSU) and Ohio State University (OSU), USA for half year in 2005.
Prof. Lin has been working on clinical, teaching, research in veterinary ophthalmology for more than 20 years. His interests include clinical veterinary ophthalmology and comparative ophthalmology studies. He has published around 100 original full papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and around 125 conference papers, and involved in the writing of 7 veterinary books. He has been a frequent invited speaker of continuing education courses in veterinary ophthalmology for practicing vets in Taiwan and several other Asian countries for nearly 20 years.
